Your Excellencies, Reverend Fathers, Ladies and Gentlemen lay delegates,
In view of the heat wave currently affecting France and expected to persist until the end of the week, the French authorities and transport companies recommend cancelling travel and gatherings.
In these circumstances, the administration, under the presidency of our Metropolitan John, has decided to postpone the 2026 Ordinary General Assembly until after the summer. The dates will be communicated later.
We ask those who were due to travel to obtain a refund or an exchange for their travel and hotel. Those who are unable to do so may contact the treasurer Nicolas Lopoukhine to obtain reimbursement from the Archdiocese, by presenting supporting documents for the expenses incurred.
This message is being sent to rectors and heads of parishes or communities. We ask them to inform all their representatives at the General Assembly without delay.
