The Paschal celebrations took place in a particularly festive and solemn manner at the St Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and in the crypt of the Holy Trinity, with the participation of many faithful.
On the evening of Saturday 19 April 2025, after the Midnight Office, His Eminence Metropolitan John of Dubna took part in the Paschal procession, together with the clergy of the cathedral and of the crypt and several hundred faithful who had come to take part in the night service. After the proclamation of the Resurrection, the Archbishop presided at Paschal Matins and the Divine Liturgy.
Before dawn, a second Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the crypt for the Moldovan community at the cathedral by Archpriest Basil Sevciuk.
On Sunday morning, a Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the cathedral by Archpriest Eugene Czapiuk, in the presence of a large congregation made up mainly of families with young children. Metropolitan John helped to distribute Communion to the faithful present.
After the Divine Liturgy, the Archbishop shared the Paschal meal with the clergy and parishioners. On the evening of Pascha, the Very Reverend Archpriest Andre Svynarov, vice-rector of the cathedral, presided at the Paschal Great Vespers.
