On Sunday, 19 January 2025, at the invitation of Father Philippe Perraud, pastor of the parish, and of the Sant’Egidio community in France, the Very Reverend Archimandrite Amfian (Negrut) represented his Archbishop, Metropolitan John of Dubna, at the ceremony of consecration of the new altar of theChurch of Saint-Merry in Paris. The celebration was presided over by His Excellency Bishop Emmanuel Tois, auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Paris.
The service took place in a very prayerful and moving atmosphere. At the end of the liturgy, Archimandrite Amfian conveyed the congratulations of Metropolitan John to Bishop Emmanuel Tois and to Father Philippe Perraud on the dedication of the new altar.
The celebration concluded with a reception.
