The pastoral assembly of the Archdiocese met on 15 November at the premises of the Theological Institute of St Sergius (ITO) , chaired by Metropolitan John, at whose side stood Bishop Symeon .
After the celebration of the service of thanksgiving (Molieben), two guest speakers, Bertrand Vergely (Gender) and Julija Vidovic (Accompanying Questions of Gender in the Light of Orthodox Christian Anthropology), professors at the ITO, gave presentations of great depth on the pastoral problems posed by the advent of the “gender” doctrine from a spiritual, theological and anthropological point of view. The clergy, some of them accompanied by their wives, were very appreciative of the quality and relevance of the talks, which made it possible to deepen the pastoral role that is required today of priests and catechists.
The meeting concluded with a much-appreciated lunch, warmly offered by a team from the ITO led by Fr Anatole (Negruta).
