As part of the 32ndLiturgical Chant Congress organised by the Liturgical Music Committee of the Russian Church Outside of Russia in Jackson (New Jersey – USA), Fr Ioann Drobot, protodeacon of the St Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, gave a lecture on the musical teaching activity ofEugene Evetz (1905-1990), former choir director of the cathedral.

As the theme of the gathering was the transmission of Tradition to the younger generations, Protodeacon Ioann highlighted the work of E. Evetz in this field among Orthodox youth in France and Germany.
The congress concluded with the Sunday Vigil and Liturgy presided over by Metropolitan Nicholas, head of the Russian Church Outside of Russia, at which Fr Ioann was invited to concelebrate, with the blessing of our Metropolitan John of Dubna. The chants were sung by the choir of participants, made up of more than 100 singers.
