Dear Brothers and Sisters,
It is with great sadness, but in the hope of the resurrection, that we announce the repose in the Lord of our beloved Archpriest Eugene Czapiuk, priest of St Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Paris and chaplain of the HEGP, who fell asleep in the Lord on Wednesday 15 July.
His funeral will take place on Friday 24 July 2026 at the Cathedral of St Alexander Nevsky in Paris (Liturgy at 9:30 a.m., followed by the funeral service), followed by burial at the Russian Cemetery of Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois (4 Rue Léo Lagrange, 91700 Sainte-Geneviève-des-Bois).
His Eminence Metropolitan John of Dubna, the clergy and the parishioners of the cathedral offer their sincere condolences to Matushka Irene, his wife, to his children and to all his loved ones, and accompany them in prayer. May the Lord receive His good and faithful servant into His Kingdom.
Memory eternal! Christ is risen!
