Our Orthodox parish, present in Compiègne since November 2022, is located at 37 rue Saint Lazare. Since our arrival, we have been fitting out this place as a true Orthodox church. To this end, a temporary iconostasis was installed. Today it must be replaced.
On 9 November, accompanied by those in charge of this replacement, the rector of our parish, Father François Graillot, went to Moldova, to the Nicoreni Monastery, for the design and purchase of an iconostasis. Its cost is €26,000, excluding transport and taxes. By removing the temporary furnishings, the new iconostasis firmly and permanently roots the Orthodox parish, and through it Orthodoxy, in the department of the Oise and the city of Compiègne.
