Classes in Typikon and Liturgical Chant at St Alexander Nevsky Cathedral (2026–2027)

With the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan John of Dubna, for the seventh consecutive year, a cycle of classes in typikon and liturgical chant is offered at St Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Paris.

These classes, given by Protodeacons Alexandre Kedroff and Jean Drobot, are intended for clergy, cantors, choir directors, and any member of the faithful interested in liturgical studies.

The classes will take place on Thursday evenings at 7 p.m., preceded by the celebration of Matins, at 6 p.m., to which all are invited.

One class per month will be given in hybrid format (in person and on Zoom) and devoted to theoretical teaching. The other Thursdays will be in person and more devoted to practice (chant, reading…).

For those living far from Paris, it is possible to take part only in the monthly classes on Zoom.

The classes are held in French, as is the practice of liturgical chant. A second group provides teaching in parallel in Russian.

At the end of the annual cycle, a seminar in liturgical practice will be organized, as every year, in the first week of July 2027.

The first class will take place on Thursday 15 October 2026 and will be given in person and on Zoom.

Registration is free. Everyone may nevertheless support our school with a voluntary contribution.

Clergy and faithful of all jurisdictions are welcome.

Those interested are asked to register via this form :
