On Sunday 31 May 2026, the feast of Pentecost, with the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan John of Dubna, Archbishop of the Orthodox Churches of Russian Tradition in Western Europe, the young community of the Nativity of Christ in Arradon (Morbihan) celebrated its first Divine Liturgy of Pentecost, followed by the Vespers of Kneeling, in the Chapel of Saint Barbara in Arradon (31, rue Saint-Vincent-Ferrier, 56610 Arradon). This chapel has been placed at our disposal thanks to Father Hubert, a local priest, and Madame Rollin. It was a prayerful and lively celebration, marked by deep joy.
Father Symeon Çuhaciender, priest in charge of the parish of the Resurrection in Nantes, presided at the celebration, with the concelebration of Deacon Sergei Malko of the parish of the Resurrection in Nantes. Serving during the services were Subdeacon Dimitri Gladiy of the parish of Tours, as well as the reader Mathieu and the altar server Alexandre, both also of the parish of Nantes.
The faithful came in great numbers to support this new foundation and to accompany the birth of this community with their prayer. Parishioners from Nantes, Lorient, Vannes and Surzur also came to celebrate the descent of the Holy Spirit, notably Deacon Stephen Sollogoub and his family, of the Parish of Saint Gildas and Saint Clare in Crac’h (Morbihan).
After the Divine Liturgy, Father Symeon thanked Vladyka John, as well as all the founding members and those committed to building this community, together with all who were present, whether in person or in prayer.
Warm wishes for Mother’s Day were also offered, recalling that every mother has carried in her own body the life given by the Holy Spirit, in the image of the Virgin Mary. This is the spiritual vocation of every Christian.
The celebration continued with a fraternal and lively agape meal, thanks to the presence of many children! It was organized in the parish hall by Matushka Angélique.
The dates and times of the next services are available on the community’s website .
