On Thursday 21 May 2026, His Eminence Metropolitan John of Dubna presided at the Divine Liturgy at St Alexander Nevsky Cathedral on the occasion of the feast of the Ascension of the Lord. Concelebrating with him were the Very Reverend Protopresbyter John Gueit and the clergy of the cathedral. After the reading of the Holy Gospel, Father John delivered thehomily on the meaning of the feast.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy, Protopresbyter John conveyed the greetings of the clergy to Vladyka John on the occasion of his name day, and the faithful of the cathedral likewise expressed their good wishes and their love for their bishop, wishing him good health, joy and many, many years among them.

A convivial coffee hour prepared by the faithful followed the feast.
