His Eminence Metropolitan John of Dubna presided over the Paschal celebrations this year at St Alexander Nevsky Cathedral.
On the evening of Saturday 11 April 2026, after the Midnight Office, the Archbishop, surrounded by the clergy of the cathedral and of the crypt, with several hundred faithful who had come to take part in the night service, took part in the Paschal procession. After the proclamation of the Resurrection, Metropolitan John presided at Paschal Matins and the Divine Liturgy.
Before dawn, a second Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the crypt for the Moldovan community of the Annunciation, attached to the cathedral, by Archpriest Vasile Sevciuc, rector of that community, in the presence of a very large number of faithful.
On Pascha Sunday, a late Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the cathedral by Archpriest Eugène Czapiuk, in the presence of a large congregation made up mainly of families with young children.
On the evening of Pascha, the Archbishop celebrated the Paschal Great Vespers with the clergy of the cathedral.
During this Bright Week, Divine Liturgies will be celebrated at the cathedral, followed by Paschal processions around the church according to tradition.
