Pastoral visit of Metropolitan JOHN to the Parish of St Seraphim of Sarov and the Protection of the Mother of God in Paris

On Sunday 18 May 2025, the Sunday of the Samaritan Woman, His Eminence Metropolitan John of Dubna made a pastoral visit to the Parish of St Seraphim of Sarov and the Protection of the Mother of God in Paris in order to ordain Reader Jean-Baptiste Ferrier to the diaconate.

Metropolitan John of Dubna was accompanied by Deacon Seraphim Dregwald of the St Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, his secretary and Reader Antoine Kadar.

Many faithful attended the pontifical Divine Liturgy, presided over by Metropolitan John. Concelebrating with our Archbishop were the rector of the parish, Protopresbyter Nicolas Cernokrak, Archpriest Renaud Michel Presty, Priest Irénée Moutiers, as well as Deacon Seraphim Dregwald and Protodeacon Gérard Delemme, deacon of the parish, beautifully accompanied by the choir directed by the choir director Serge Rehbinder, surrounded by many singers.

After the reading of the Hours, Metropolitan John tonsured two new readers for the parish, Paul Doucet and Zoran Jevtic, and ordained Reader Jean-Baptiste Ferrier a subdeacon.

During the Divine Liturgy, Metropolitan John ordained the subdeacon Jean-Baptiste Ferrier to the diaconate as the second deacon of the parish.

At the end of the Divine Liturgy, Fr Nicolas warmly thanked the Archbishop for his visit.

The day continued with fraternal agape shared in the parish house.
