On 12 January 2025, His Eminence Metropolitan John of Dubna, at the invitation of the parish, consecrated the new altar of the Church of St Seraphim of Sarov in Chelles, in the presence of the Mayors of Chelles, Mr Brice Rabaste and of Gagny, Mr Rolin Cranoly. The Archbishop then presided at the Divine Liturgy, together with Archpriests André Drobot and Adrian Haraha and Protodeacon Jean Drobot. This altar was funded by a collection among the parishioners.
At the end of the service, the Metropolitan awarded a gramota to Fr Adrian in thanks for his priestly service and his faithful help to the parish over the past 20 years.
After the service, the Archbishop, the clergy, the guests and the faithful present shared an agape meal and listened to Christmas carols (koladki) in French, Ukrainian and Moldovan sung by the parish choir.
